Construction starts for next offices on Bexhill Enterprise Park
Construction has begun on High Weald House, the second office building on Bexhill Enterprise Park in East Sussex.
This marks the start of the £9m Phase 2 of the Enterprise Park which will also see the delivery of the provisionally titled Building 3.
On completion, High Weald House will provide contemporary office accommodation expected to appeal to companies in Bexhill. Demand is also anticipated from companies looking to locate and grow in Hastings following the full letting of Havelock Place and Lacuna Place in the town centre earlier this year.
Developed by economic development company Sea Change Sussex and designed by the award-winning A H R Architects, High Weald House is expected to be completed by spring 2019. Ranging over three floors, High Weald House will provide flexible working areas that can be adapted for the requirements of individual businesses, with offices starting from around 600 sq ft. For any company interested, and subject to agreement, the entire 25,674 sq ft building could be made available.
The building’s large glass area makes the most of the spectacular views and maximises natural daylight throughout to create a bright and inviting environment. The overall design prioritises well-being and creates inspiring spaces that will bring people together and encourage collaboration. Clearly meeting the needs of modern working practices, collaborative working will be inspired by the inclusion of a shared atrium, communal catering facilities and breakout spaces.
Glovers House, the first building on Bexhill Enterprise Park, was fully let on completion and demonstrates the increasing demand for contemporary office space incorporating cost-effective design. The building houses the head office of Park Holidays UK, the largest operator of holiday parks in the south of England.
Serviced plots are also available on the Bexhill Enterprise Park which can accommodate business premises from 2,000 sq ft to over 220,000 sq ft. Companies can buy these plots to develop their own properties or commission Sea Change to develop schemes to their specification.
The Bexhill Enterprise Park is part of a wider programme creating a major new business and residential community to the north-east of Bexhill that will provide jobs and homes to accommodate population expansion in the Hastings and Bexhill area.
Philip Johnson of Locate East Sussex said: “The onward expansion of Bexhill Enterprise Park is great news for East Sussex. It will provide enhanced opportunities for local start-up businesses to base themselves in cutting-edge sustainable premises, contributing to the development of the local economy.”
