Bexhill jobs fair returns to De La Warr Pavilion

One of the best Jobs Fairs in the South East, the Bexhill Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair, in association with Hastings Direct and Bexhill College, returns this year to the De La Warr Pavilion on Friday 5 April 2019.

Join us at Stand 7. We will also be co-hosting an exclusive Q&A at 11:15 in the stage area, ‘Make it happen: Transform your idea into a business’ with business owners Robin Johnson and Kenton Lowe.

Now approaching its 4th year, Locate East Sussex is delighted to offer continued support to this fantastic event that gives hundreds of job-seekers a unique opportunity to talk to regional businesses and secure a new position.

Each year a wide variety of local businesses and organisations attend the Jobs Fair to offer opportunities to recent graduates, school leavers as well as those looking for a career change or who are returning to work after a career break.

In 2018, over 600 people attended, and 48 jobs were filled across a number of sectors including retail, manufacturing, creative industries, financial services, IT and care, with the event described as the best Jobs Fair in years by both the exhibitors and guests.

Visitors can explore full or part-time jobs, apprenticeships, work experience and placements, as well as an exciting programme of interactive workshops, training and career advice.

What’s different this year?

For the first time, the Jobs Fair will also offer support and guidance for start-up businesses and those who are self-employed, making it a worthwhile visit for anyone who lives locally.

With a packed talks & workshops programme, we’re delighted Google will be joining us at the Bexhill Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair to run CV Building training sessions for job seekers and a Digital Marketing Planning session for anyone looking at starting a business. As well as this, they will also be hosting career planning, how to increase your appeal to employers, career pathways, turning your passion into a business and a 1-2-1 CV surgery, attendees will be equipped for the future of employment and a path forward to making their business grow.

‘Make it happen: Transform your idea into a business’, our Q&A with business owners Robin Johnson and Kenton Lowe, will uncover what it takes to create a business, the challenges they have faced and what they have learnt on their journey to get there.

The Bexhill Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair is a community-led initiative organised by the De La Warr Pavilion, Huw Merriman MP, Bexhill Chamber of Commerce, Bexhill College, Rother District Council, Bexhill Town Team and Culture Shift with support from Hastings Direct.

The event is free to attend, but the talks and workshops are first come, first serve.

“It’s a fantastic event, a welcoming place where people can explore the best in employment and skills development opportunities the local area has to offer”
