Construction begins at Churchfield Business Centre on new incubator units

With 29 new business incubator units set to be made, the construction of Churchfield Business Centre on Sidney Little Road sets to bring new opportunities in Hastings, East Sussex.

Delayed due to COVID-19, the ground has now been broken on the project after a long developmental period.

To be completed in late summer 2022, local construction company Westridge Construction Ltd will be managing the build with sustainable building specialists Allen Construction Consultancy Limited.

Cllr Paul Barnett, lead for regeneration at Hastings Borough Council, said,

"With COP26 having recently finished, it's a great time to emphasise how the council is making sure its projects are sustainable. The incubator units will be built to a high sustainability standard and will have all sorts of features in place to encourage greener working, like electric vehicle charging points and extensive energy efficiency measures in place.

To register an interest in occupying one of the units please contact the council's agents Dyer and Hobbis: email - ahobbis@dyerandhobbis.com or call on 01424 423626.

The project has been developed with funding and support from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership; partly funded by European Regional Development Fund via the Connecting Hastings and Rother Together (CHART) programme; and the council's own Capital Programme and the recently announced Town Fund Programme.

"It's great to see the concept start to become a reality, and I look forward to seeing these units become bustling with local small businesses in the near future."
